Maria Giuseppina Rotundo

Maria Giuseppina Rotundo of Middletown, N.Y., a retired seamstress for over 35 years for Calvert Coat Company in Middletown, N.Y. passed away on August 19, 2024. She was 95.

She was born on March 23, 1929 in a small, southern Italian village known as Magisano. It was in this Village that she met her lifelong partner, Vincent Rotundo. In the year 1956, Vincent and Maria embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. They boarded the Saint Andrea for a 7 day voyage to the New World, the United States of America. It was here that they lived the American dream and helped many other families come to America from Italy to reach the American dream.

Vincent, Maria and their two sons later opened the Country Farm Market and she was known as “Mama” at the store. Maria will be deeply missed and loved by all who knew her.

She was the widow of Vincent Rotundo.

Survivors include her son Carmen Rotundo and his wife Laura. Her grandchildren Vincenzo (Mariah Rodriguez) and Giuseppina. Her great-grandchildren Laila and Lucilla. She was predeceased by her sons Dominic Rotundo, Dominick Rotundo and Anna Rosa Rotundo.

There will be no visitation.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday August 22. 2024 at 9: 30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church 149 Cottage St. Middletown, N.Y.

Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Garnet Health Medical Center in her memory.
