Marcus S. Potter Jr. of Westtown, a retired mechanic with American Silk Label in Unionville, and a lifelong resident of the area, died on January 26, 2015 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 86. The son of the late Marcus S. and Mary Alice Cortwright Potter Sr., he was born on April 9, 1928 in Johnson, New York. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion George Smith Post 1607 in Unionville, N.Y. and he coached and managed Little League for Minisink Valley for 25 years. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia Johnson Potter. Survivors include his wife Anne Horan Potter at home. His sons: Danny Potter of Colorado; Henry Potter and his wife Lauren of Johnson; Mark Potter and his wife Joanne of Westtown and Michael Potter and his wife Silvia of Port Jervis. His two daughters Teena LeBel and her husband Ernie of Virginia and Nancy Lane and her husband Todd of Unionville. His sister Christine Bock of Huguenot. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and extended family. He was predeceased by his brothers: Walter, Henry and Richard Potter and his sister Marion Blades. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 11 A.M. at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Westtown Route 284 Westtown, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion George Smith Post 1607 in Unionville, N.Y. or the Humane Society of One's Choice.
