Luther Gilchrist

Luther R. Gilchrist Jr., a construction worker and longtime resident of the area, passed away Thursday May 11, 2017 at Richmond University Hospital in Staten Island. He was 37. The son of the late Luther R. Gilchrist Sr. and Merris Jeffries Morris, he was born July 18, 1979 in Newburgh, NY. Survivors include his mother: Merris Morris; his sisters: Tyfanny Gilchrist and Lanikka Nicole McGovern & her husband Chris; her brothers: Ryan Concuzza and Andrew Santana; his close friend: Cici Holloman; his uncles: Larry and Lenny and Luther Herring; his aunts: Morretta and Bunny Herring, as well as his second mom: Mary Jane Knight. He was predeceased by his father Luther Gilchrist; his grandmother: Margaret Jeffries and great grandmother Mabel Jeffries.
