Leon C. Decker, a long time resident of Middletown, N.Y., died on February 28, 2016 in Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 90. The son of the late Earl L and Christina Muir Decker, he was born in the Town of Deerpark, N.Y. on October 26, 1925. He was a retired mechanic for L.P. Transportation in Chester, New York. Leon proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II with the 88th Construction Battalion (SeaBees) in the South Pacific. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Sarah Decker, his daughter Barbara and his son Michael C. Decker. Survivors include his children Daniel of Middletown; Leon T. Decker and his wife Anna of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Laura Steiert and her husband Mark of Martinez, California and David Decker and his wife Victoria of Wallkill, N.Y. He also leaves behind his grandson Donald Persons of Middletown, who was like a son to him, and Donald’s wife, Ria. He is also survived by many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. His sisters Mary Nenna of Ferndale; Lillian Calo of N.J. and his brother Edwin Decker of Monroe and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Christina Penaluna and brothers Earl and Robert Decker. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday March 3, 2016 from 10-11 A.M. at the Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc. 92 Main St. Chester, New York. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, N.Y.
