Josephine "Jo" Demme of Middletown, a retired Vice-President with M&T Bank in Newburgh, and a longtime resident of the area, died on August 8, 2015 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 74. The daughter of the late Mario and Matilda VentereaMissilli, she was born on December 30, 1940 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was the widow of George Demme. A family statement read: " Jo radiated incredible warmth, greeting everyone with her beautiful smile. She was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She possessed a unique ability to love with gentleness, kindness, compassion and selflessness. Jo had a gift for interior design and was a highly esteemed cook. She loved spending time with her family and always had a special interest in their lives and wellbeing. Jo has always been a pillar of strength in our family and is so very loved by us all. Her loving spirit will be tremendously missed." Survivors include her sisters Shancy Missilli of Middletown; Jeanne Troy and her husband Arthur of Cornwall on Hudson and Deborah Helly and her companion Craig Hicks of Chester. Her brothers Mario Missilli Jr. and his companion Carol Fanning of Swan Lake and Joseph Missilli and his wife Kathy of Massapequa, N.Y. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband George and her sisters Phyllis Salone and Ann Pulvirent. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2015 from 2-6 P.M. at the Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc. 92 Main Street Chester, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at 10 A.M. in St. Columba Church in Chester, N.Y. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery in Chester, N.Y.
