Joseph P. Deserto of the Town of Wallkill, a retired chief estimator for Jaff Brothers in Queens, N.Y. and a lifelong resident of the area, died on April 21, 2016. He was 83. The son of the late Antonio and Anna Dina Deserto, he was born on October 19, 1932 in the Town of Wallkill, N.Y. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and the Korean War Vets. Survivors include his wife Jean Deserto at home. His sons John Deserto of Hamlin, N.Y. and Joseph Deserto Jr. of Middletown, N.Y. His three grandchildren Anthony Deserto; Hanah Barna and her husband Chris and Rebecca Deserto. He is also survived by his sisters Ann Henderson of Middletown and Angelina Hovencamp and her husband Russell of Maine and his sisters-in-laws: Gwen Deserto of Fair Oaks; Bernie Deserto of Pine Bush and Janet Deserto of Goshen and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Andrew; Anthony; Vito; Paul; Peter and Frank Deserto and his sisters Mary Lancieri and Nancy Cosco. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday April 26, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Assumption Church 17 High St. Bloomingburg, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
