John J. McEntyre Greenwood Lake, New York John J. McEntyre, a retired steamfitter for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 638 and longtime resident of the area, died Thursday August 22, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 77. The son of the late Luke and Helen Crane McEntyre, he was born on February 2, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. John was a Marine Corp Veteran during the Korean Conflict and a member of Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake and the Gaelic Cultural Society in Greenwood Lake. Survivors include his wife of 53 years: Terry McEntyre at home; his 4 children: Kathleen McEntyre and her partner Scot Murray of Greenwood Lake; Eileen Dykstra and her husband Daniel of Bloomingdale, NJ; John K. McEntyre and his wife Michelle of Monroe, NY; Kevin McEntyre of Greenwood Lake; his Sister-in laws: Nessie McIntyre of Saratoga Springs, NY; Kathleen Docherty of Scotland; brother-in-law : Thomas Docherty and his wife Catherine of Old Bridge, NJ. He is further survived by his 3 beloved grandsons: John Tyler; Nicholas and Brendan; as well as many cousins; nieces; nephews and his beloved dog: Molly. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday August 25, 2013 at the Strong-Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak Street Greenwood Lake, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday August 26, 2013 at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, NY. Burial with military honors will be in the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, NY. Arrangements by Strong-Basile Funeral Home Greenwood Lake, New York 845-477-8240
