John Nial Jacobs Jr., 87 of Middletown passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was born in Chester NY to Harriet Miller Jacobs and John Nial Jacobs Sr.. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann Marie Murray Jacobs; sons Danny Jacobs (Adelaide) of Florida NY, Larry Jacobs (Janet Kozisky) of McDonough NY, Timmy Jacobs (Toni Ziccardi) of Walker Valley NY, Brian Jacobs (Martha Acevedo) of Albuquerque NM and daughter Kathleen Connell (Pat) of Newburgh NY. Brothers Bill (Skip) of Staatsburg, Phil of New Hampton, Richard of Middletown, Tom Burger of Westtown and his sister Sue of Warwick; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren who called him Popeye, numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Walt and sister Dot. John was a hardworking, resourceful, loving family man who had a variety of talents. He worked as a dairy farmer, feed mill manager, machinist, window installer and for the office of the aging delivering food. He was gifted at working with his hands and had many artistic creations. He enjoyed sharing his many talents, creations, jokes, life stories and passions. He lived his life with the highest values of being the best man he could be and took everything he was given as a blessing. He was a Red Sox fan, enjoyed bowling, auctions and playing cards with his family and friends (aka Big Poppy). Visitation hours will be held on Sunday November 13, 2016 from 3-6 P.M. at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc. 107 Murray Ave. Goshen, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday November 14, 2016 at 10 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church 71 Murray Ave. Goshen, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to St. Jude's Children Hospital, Maryknoll Fathers, Hospice of Orange/Sullivan County or a charity of your choice.
