Ida DeMarzo of Middletown, a retired switchboard operator for Horton Memorial Hospital and a longtime resident of the area, died on July 20, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 87. The daughter of the late Enrico and Philomena Mariano Arciero, she was born on January 26, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York. She was a member of St. Joseph Church; the Altar Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church; the Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Rosemary #681in Middletown and the Hortonettes. She was the widow of Frank DeMarzo who preceded her in death on December 10, 2012. Survivors include her children Angela Zapka and her husband Paul of Wycoff, N.J. and Frank DeMarzo Jr. and his wife Wendy of Fairport, N.Y. Her grandchildren Lawrence; Ryan; Jared; and Laura and her great-grandson Lawrence. Her sisters Anna Ferro and Lucy Delesparo both of Middletown and her brothers Vincenzo Arciero of Pine Bush, N.Y. and Rudy Arciero of Toms River, N.J. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Rocco; Joseph; Salvatore and Anthony Arciero. Visitation hours will be held on Monday July 21, 2014 from 4-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday July 22, 2014 at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph Church in Middletown, N.Y. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Middletown.
