Frederick Bramich

June 23, 1943 — January 13, 2015

Frederick W. Bramich Jr. of Greenwood Lake, a retired police officer in the Town of Warwick and a longtime resident of the area, died on January 13, 2015 at St. Anthony's Hospital. He was 71. The son of the late Frederick W. and Harriet Schaeffer Bramich, he was born on June 23, 1943 in Williamsburg, VA. He was a member of the Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corp., where he served as president from 1985-86, he was the Corp Man of the Year in 1983 and currently served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Monroe-Chester Sportsmen Club serving as V.P.; Chairman of the Board, and head of the Youth Program. He was a N.Y. State Firearms Instructor and a NY State Hunter Safety Instructor. He was a former Police Officer in Greenwood Lake and the Town of Chester. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a former member of the Greenwood Lake Fire Dept. and the Greenwood Lake Lions Club. He loved working with youth groups and was the DARE officer in the Warwick School District. He was appointed by former Congressman Gilman to serve on a Congressional committee for the Prevention of Drugs in Schools. Survivors include his wife Diane Bramich at home. His son Frederick W. Bramich III and his grandson Frederick W. Bramich IV of Gulfport, FL; his stepsons Robert Weidner of Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Eric Weidner of Windsor, N.Y. His brother Thomas Bramich of Westport, N.Y. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 17, 2015 at 2 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church 25 Waterstone Rd. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corp or Grace Lutheran Church in Greenwood Lake.
