Frank "Butch" DeGroat Jr. of Middletown and formerly of Chester, a carpet installer with Carpet Jammers, entered into rest on October 25, 2012 at ORMC in Middletown after a long battle with Kidney disease and cancer. He was 63. The son of Mabel Ross and the late Frank DeGroat Sr., Frank was born on December 20, 1948 in Goshen, N.Y. A family statement reads: "He loved to spend time with his family; he loved playing the guitar and singing and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed watching Sci-Fi and Horror movies and Sponge Bob. He especially loved his Saturdays with his granddaughter JaSenya (EJ) and his Sunday dinners with his mom." Survivors include his longtime companion, Geraldine Croci at home. His mother Mabel Ross and her husband Walter of Middletown. His sons B. Troy DeGroat and Derek DeGroat both of Middletown and Brian L. DeGroat of Seattle, WA. His daughter Ebony Marrero-Sanchez and her husband Justin of Middletown. His grandchildren Paris DeGroat ; Brishay DeGroat; JaSenya Sanchez; and Kaitlyn and Brandon Forestdale. His aunts Ella Reynolds, Mary Boone and her husband Armond, Catherine Robinson and her companion Sam and Janet Williams and her husband Fred. His uncle David McGinnis and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday Nov. 1, 2012 from 10-Noon at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery Middletown, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a Dialysis Fund. Arrangements by Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc.
