Eugene Rubino Middletown, New York Eugene Rubino passed away Monday April 21, 2014 in Middletown, New York at the age of 93. He was born in Greenwich Village , NY on March 24, 1921. He married his high school sweetheart, Josephine in 1947 and together they raised three sons. They were parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima and St. John's in Jackson Heights, NY. Gene was a WWII combat veteran served in the US ARMY infantry from 1942-1945 and was wounded in the Philippines. He worked for over 25 years for the local 32B SEIU as a freight elevator operator in New York City. Among his friends and family, Gene was known as a sincerely loyal family man and a passionate Giants baseball fan, the team moving to San Fransisco in 1958 did not affect his dedication to them. He became the patriarch of four generations of SF Giants fans. He was also an avid Movie and music lover favoring James Cagney, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Gene was predeceased by his wife Josephine in 2009. He is survived by three sons: Robert (Laura) of California; Kenneth (Belinda) of Rock Hill, NY; Donald (Larry) of Baldwin, NY; five grandchildren: Nathaniel; Rafael; Matthew (Nichole); Kelly (Dennis); Laura; four great-grandchildren: Madison; Nicholas; James and Gabriel. The family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Teresa's for the love, care and compassion given to Gene. We will always remember your kindness, it made a huge difference in Gene's, Josephine's and all of our lives-Thank you. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Thursday April 24, 2014 at St. Joseph RC Church in Middletown. Burial will be in St. Raymond's Cemetery Bronx, NY.
