Eleanor M. Petak of Goshen, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died on May 17, 2016 in The Valley View Center in Goshen. She was 87. The daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Kozareski Niski, she was born on February 27, 1929 in Warwick, N.Y. She was a member of St. John's R.C. Church in Goshen; the Orange Runners Club and the Newburgh YMCA Runners Club. The Petak family would like to express their sincere thanks to our Valley View Family for all of their kindness and compassion. Survivors include her husband Herman Petak at home. Her daughters Judith Farella and her husband Michael of Hawley, PA. and Lynn Baggott and her husband Anthony of Monroe, N.Y. Her four grandchildren Jennifer McGorman and her husband Brian; Christopher Diamond; Samantha Baggott and Patrick Baggott. Her three great-grandchildren Jack; Evan and Ardsley McGorman. Her sisters Dorothy Boback; Esther Caldara and Martha Masker and her brothers Vincent and Thomas Niski. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Daniel, Joseph and Edward Niski. Visitation hours will be held on Friday May 20, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc. 107 Murray Ave. Goshen, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 10 A.M. at St. John's R.C. Church 71 Murray Ave. Goshen, N.Y. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Goshen, N.Y.
