Edwin D. "Ed" Hadley of Walker Valley, a retired Independent Truck Driver and a longtime resident of the area, died on May 24, 2014 in ORMC in Middletown. He was 78. The son of the late Carl E. and Doris Decker Hadley, he was born on June 14, 1935 in Hancock, New York. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the 6th Infantry, where he was an expert marksman. He was a member of the VFW Post 5492 in Pine Bush. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Hadley of Walker Valley, who cared for him until the end. His children: Jane Hadley of Milton, MA.; Edwin D. Hadley Jr. of Johnson City, N.Y.; Scott G. Hadley and his wife Sonia of Bloomingburg; Stephen C. Hadley of Johnson City, N.Y. His grandchildren Lauren; Alicia and Marc and his great-grandchildren Isaiah and Aurora. His stepdaughters: Rene Bedford of Bloomingburg; Dorothy Bedford of Bullville and Wanda Leach of Pine Bush. His step-grandchildren Robert; Thomas; Cory; Ryan; Tyler; Jesilyn; and Ashley and he is also survived by 9 step great-grandchildren. His sisters: Delores Emerich of South Carolina; Helen Woods of Sidney, N.Y.; Kathleen Nelson of Wisconsin and Barbara Morris of Hancock. His brothers Gary Hadley of Harris, N.Y. and Stanley Hadley of Lakewood, PA. as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Bob and Ted Hadley. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2014 from 4-7 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A celebration of Life will be at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
