Dolores E. Piekara passed away peacefully on July 19, 2015 after a long illness. Dolores was the daughter of the late Jesse Leon and Vera Grace Smith Terpening , she was born on July 23, 1930 in Little Britain, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband Frank G. Piekara. Dolores worked at the Washingtonville Central School and the Blooming Grove Day Care Center for many years before retiring. Mom was a very giving, loving, confident and determined person, which she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She always told us that we could accomplish whatever we set our minds to do. She would never give up, even with her illness and would always be there for you, even if she didn't agree with a decision that you made. Mom's greatest joy was being with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud of each one and their accomplishments. Dolores is survived by her longtime companion, Charles Decker, Sr. of Washingtonville. Her daughters Arlene Piekara-Smith and her husband Donald of Bloomingburg, Kathy Piekara of Walden and her son Michael Piekara and his wife Annette of Chester. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tara Peterson (James) of Florida; Veronica Branch (William) of Virginia; Edward Illenberg of Walden; Bruce Illenberg (Jessica) of Parksville; Christopher Illenberg (Felicite) of Walden.
