Clifford Maceda, died on April 6, 2015 in New Orleans, LA. He was 39. The son of Andrew J. and Carolyn V. Parker Maceda, he was born on January 23, 1976 in Warwick, New York. Clifford grew up in Greenwood Lake, N.Y. and graduated from Tuxedo High School in 1994. He attended Drew University on scholarship and graduated in 1998. Since graduating college, most of his career was spent in elections research, first at Voter News Service and then at the Associated Press. He was a longtime resident of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He had many interests in life among them cooking at the grill, hiking, reading, music and caring for his two beloved cats, Squeaky and Bitey and earlier Mikey. He was a lifelong student of history, politics and economics and had a passion for truth and debate. He was also passionate about racial and economic injustice in this world. He suffered from depression, anxiety and alcoholism for many years and nearly succumbed once before to these afflictions. Survivors include his parents Andrew Sr. and Carolyn Maceda. His brothers Andrew Jr., Peter and Steven Maceda. His sister Lorraine Maceda, sisters-in-law Beth Maceda and Li Kwok and his nieces Allie and Sarah Maceda and his nephew Robert Pixley II. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday April 12, 2015 from 2-6 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warwick Humane Society or a charity of one's choice from your association with Cliff.
