Clarence Thorpe

Clarence "Chub" Thorpe of Middletown a retired auto detailer at Middletown Honda and a lifelong resident of the area, died on Wednesday October 3, 2012 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 82. The son of the late Arthur and Florence Fuller Thorpe, he was born on March 6, 1930 in Middletown, N.Y. He was the widower of Ruth "Buttons" Thorpe. Survivors include his children Deborah Jones and her husband Mike of Middletown; Cheryl Palmer and her husband Thomas of Summitville and Lori Hawley and her husband Gerald of Pennsylvania. His sister Shirley McIvor and her husband Frank of Virginia and his brother Robert Thorpe and his wife Vern of Montgomery. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Fuller and his wife Betty. Visitation hours will be held on Saturday October 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Graveside Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 9, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn.
