Caroline Z. Miracco

June 29, 1929 — December 11, 2022

Caroline "Bubbles" Miracco

Born Caroline Zazzaro in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 29, 1929, and was raised by her uncle Guido "Willie" Zazzaro and his wife Josephine after spending time in an orphanage.

Life was tough during the great depression and as a teenager she had to work to help support the household. Making matters even tougher she was separated from her beloved younger sister Frances.

In 1950 she married Joseph "Sonny" Miracco at Our Lady of Grace Church in Brooklyn and had a son Robert in 1956 and centered into the role of housewife, mother and part-time employee again to help support the household. In 1968 at the urging of her sister Frances, she applied for a Teller's position at First National City (today's Citibank).

In 1975 she and Joe were able to realize the American Dream and bought a new home on Staten Island. All the while by working hard she elevated herself to be the First Female Head Teller at a Wall Street Bank and eventually was promoted to Assistant Vice-President, all without a High School Diploma.

Caroline enjoyed cooking and crocheting and was a frequent visitor and eventual resident of Greenwood Lake.

She is survived by her son Robert and her daughter-in-law Lori.
