Barbara Jean McDowell Secor Seneca, a lifetime resident of the area, passed away at Elant in Newburgh Saturday January 4, 2014 peacefully with her family by her side. She was 84. The daughter of the late William and Lillian Noxon McDowell she was born in Newburgh, NY. She attended NFA in Newburgh and after becoming a LPN, she worked in various hospitals and nursing homes in the area. She was the former wife of Carmen Seneca and the late Richard Secor. Survivors include her two daughters: Cindy Olsen and her husband William(Bo) of Newburgh, NY; Laurie Skinner and her husband James of Slate Hill, NY; her grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Olsen Alderson and her husband Michael of Ithaca, NY; Elizabeth Belle Olsen of Newburgh; Michelle Halpin and her husband Phillip of North Carolina; James V. Skinner of Slate Hill and Matthew Skinner of Roanoke, VA; her great-grandchildren: Juniper and Andrew; her two sisters: Doris Greenwood of New Windsor and Linda Ostrander of Newburgh, NY; as well as many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister: Jean. Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM on Friday January 10, 2014 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown, NY. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday January 11, 2014 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Middle Hope, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
