Barbara A. Devine

January 8, 1940 — December 30, 2020

Barbara A. Devine Chester, N.Y. Formerly of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, Barbara Ann Devine (nee Keane), a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 80. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she grew up with many friends and a close Irish family. As a teen, she loved to dance and could often be found at the local "ice cream parlor" outshining every other dancer. When she was twenty-two she married her soul mate, Donald Devine, and together they raised six children. Barbara was beautiful, loved her family fiercely and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed starting her day with a cup of Irish tea and occasionally ended it with a dry martini (with a twist, of course). Leaving her family with a lifetime of memories of love and laughter. Barbara is survived by Maureen Devine, Chester, NY, Donald Devine and his children Connor and Shelby of Newburgh, NY, Kathleen Devine, Brooklyn, NY, Trisha Devine, Mahwah, NJ, Bryan and Jennifer (Begley) Devine and their daughters Jillian, Brielle and Addyson of Monroe, NY, and Terrance Devine, Brooklyn, NY. She also leaves behind her brother Stephen and his wife Judy of Staten Island, NY, her sister-in-law Billie Devine, The Villages, FL, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Aside from being called Barbara, Mike and Mom, being Grandma and "Grandma-Dear" were her favorite and most cherished titles. Her grandchildren were her world and are her greatest legacy. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday January 7, 2021 at 10 A.M. in Holy Rosary Church 41 Windermere Ave. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Arrangements by Strong Basile Funeral Home 477-8240 or www.ocfuneralhomes.com.
