Antoinette (Nettie) Vitale of Middletown, N.Y. died at home, after a long illness, on Sunday March 4, 2018. She was 97. The daughter of the late Biaggio and Marianne Lattara Provenzano, she was born on April 22, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up with eight brothers and sisters. She was the widow of Leo S. Vitale who with her brother-in-laws Frank and Anthony owned and operated the Trot Inn Restaurant for many years in Goshen. Leo and Nettie retired and spent over 37 happy years in Clearwater, Florida where they enjoyed many good times with their friends at Regency Heights. In addition to her husband, Nettie was predeceased by her brothers, Frank, Salvatore, Robert and George Provenzano and sisters, Rose Calderazzo, Jean Iannotti and Theresa Vitale. Nettie was also predeceased by nieces, Arlene Adams, Louise Isabella, Lillian DellaCamera and nephew Franklin Calderazzo. Survivors include her sister Frances Giannone of Middletown and her loving niece and caregiver, Elaine Morgan of Greenville. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Provenzano (widow of Salvatore) and nieces, Marian Foti, Marianne Yocca, Donna McClellan, Cathy Provenzano and Karen Lally. Surviving nephews include Robert and James Provenzano and husband's nephew, Anthony Battilora. She also had numerous great-nieces and nephews whom she was very fond of and enjoyed watching them grow up through the years. Nettie was an exceptional cook and baker and took great pleasure in preparing delicious Italian meals for family and friends. She also was a talented crafter. She particularly loved knitting and crocheting and enjoyed giving away her handmade crafts to family and friends. She loved to play bingo and play cards and of course, loved to watch her favorite sports. She was a huge fan of golf, the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. Visitation hours will be held on Friday March 9, 2018 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 10, 2018 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown, New York. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Goshen, New York.
