Obituary of Donald S. Cooper

 DONALD SYLVESTER COOPER of Monticello, NY passed away suddenly on March 14, 2018.  Donald was born on September 12, 1940 in Toombs Georgia. Donald was proud of the achievements of his children Donald Ashley Cooper, Director of the 8th District of Homeland Security and Daughter Dina Lynne Cooper culinary educator and Executive Sous Chef. Grand-father of Richard Ashley Cooper, Manager and Mychal Anthony Cooper, Navy serviceman and criminal justice student. Donald was great grand-father to his joy Elijah Gabriel Cooper.

Donald was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Samantha Wimberly, his mother Clifford, his father Jewrell Cooper, one brother Jimmy, and two sisters Lugenia Cooper and Deborah Turner.

Donald was a devoted steadfast motor coach operator at the Hudson Transit Lines/Shortline transit service for 41-years, Donald was an employee extraordinaire who was coach driver, expeditor, and jack of all trades at a job he loved immensely.

Donald leaves to mourn his passing, his brother Michael Cooper, sisters Eunice Johnson and Marilyn Denise Turner and he will be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A family statement read: “Donald will be missed but not forgotten.  The Cooper family both near and far wish to thank all of his friends and coworkers for their many acts of kindness, thoughtful deeds and most of all your many prayers.”

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday March 24, 2018 from 11AM-3 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
