Obituary of Vera E. Goodrich

Vera E. Goodrich of Middletown, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours on Thursday September 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 76. The daughter of the late William Korman and Frances Korman Crawford of Westtown, N.Y., Vera was born at her grandmothers's farm house on March 16, 1941 in Greenville, N.Y. She was predeceased by her stepfather Wesley Crawford. She has been a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge 1097. She was an active member of the Denton Presbyterian Church in New Hampton, N.Y., where she enjoyed fellowship and served as a Deacon at the time of her death. Vera loved spending time outside and was an avid gardener. Vera is survived by her husband of 57 years Ronald P. Goodrich. They were married on August 28, 1960. They moved to Tucson, Arizona while Ron was in the Army and they had their two daughters while living there. They returned to Middletown to begin the family business and their son was born. Vera was part owner and has worked in the family business Goodrich Construction Company, Inc. for over fifty years. At the time of her passing she held the office of Vice-President. Her children Erika Reed and her husband Randi of Middletown, Andrea Adler-Sifre and her husband Rick of New Paltz and Scott Goodrich and his wife Sydney of Middletown. She is also survived by her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as Mum, : Corey Reed and his wife Elizabeth; Justin Reed; Rachel Reed; Zachary Adler; Shelby Goodrich and Dylan Adler. The grandchildren will honor their grandmother by serving as pallbearers. She is also survived by her sister Joan Rust and her husband Ronald of Galveston, Texas and sister Betty A. Korman of Houston, Texas. Step brothers Richard Crawford and his wife Rose of New Fairfield, CT. and Gordie Crawford and his wife Pam of Seminole, Fl. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins. God will welcome her at the gates of heaven and she will be greatly missed by many. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday October 1, 2017 from 3-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 2, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the Denton Presbyterian Church 22 County Road 56 New Hampton, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A special thanks to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties and the many friends and family who have supported us in many ways during Vera's illness.
