Carmela Armao of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. a former seamstress, and a longtime resident of the area, died on May 3, 2017 in St. Anthony's Hospital in Warwick. She was 97.
The daughter of the late Francesco and Anna Sanfilippo, she was born on June 1, 1919 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was the widow of Louis Armao.
Survivors include her son Thomas Armao and his wife Mary of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Her grandson Michael Armao and his companion Alicia Hogan of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Her great grandchildren Juliana Lynn and Luna. Her sisters Joan Dankal and Josephine Sanfilippo and her nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be held on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 2-5 P.M. at the Strong-Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y.
Graveside services will be held on Monday May 8, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, N.Y.
