Domingo Rodriguez Sr. Middletown, N.Y. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7. Chaplain Domingo Rodriguez, Sr., 77, of Middletown, went to be with our heavenly father April 5, 2017 surrounded by his adoring family. Domingo Rodriguez, Sr. known by many as "Mingo" was born on December 3, 1939 in Las Marias, PR. His life was lived to the fullest. He loved effectively, worshipped passionately, served wholeheartedly and he gave of himself unconditionally. His greatest joys in life were his family, nature and sharing the gospel with the lost and forgotten. He gathered his strength from the authority of God's Word and everything he did was to glorify God. Domingo Rodriguez, Sr. retired in December 2006 from Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and he served as a Chaplain spreading the good news of Jesus Christ for over 30+ years at Camp Laguardia, at MHFPC and until present day at Orange County Jail. He was an elder at Rock of Refuge Church where he served as a teacher, musician, counselor, and mentor. Mingo was a graduate of Alpha and Omega Bible Institute in 1985. He also served as an English literacy instructor and taught many how to read and write. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Carmen Rita Rodriguez, their 5 children Carmen Rodriguez-Trujillo and husband Rev. Luis Trujillo, Sr., Marilyn Rodriguez-Serrano and her husband Bishop Adrian Serrano, Marisol Rodriguez-Soto and husband Rev. David Soto, Eva Rodriguez-Alvarado and Husband Miguel Alvarado and Domingo Rodriguez, Jr. and Wife Zory Rodriguez. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a multitude of adoptive children who lovingly called him Dad. Our comfort lies in the truth of scripture that we do not grieve like those who have no hope. For this is not the end, but just the beginning. Mingo now rests in the arms of his maker. Well done good and faithful servant. Calling hours will be Monday April 10.2017 at Transformation Church, 160 Blumel Road, Middletown, NY.from: 2-4pm viewing, 6-9pm homecoming service.
