Arnold W. "Arnie" Lazier of Middletown, a retired dockworker with Local Union 707 at Yellow Freight and formerly with Rupp Southern Tier and a lifelong resident of the area, died on February 10, 2017 at home. He was 78. The son of the late John and Mabel Lazier, he was born on September 12, 1938 in Vernon, N.J. Arnie was a member of BPOE Lodge 1097 in Middletown and the American Legion Post 151 in Middletown. Arnie married Helen Crowell and started their family, surviving are his children Tammy Vanhorn; Nancy Lazier; Arnold W. Lazier Jr. and Linda Lazier all of Port Jervis. His eight grandchildren Gerald; Jon; George; Courtney; Jennifer; Branden; Michael and Matthew and several great-grandchildren. Arnie married Grace Moran on October 1, 1988 and his is survived by his step-children Joseph Moran and his wife Vicki of South Florida; Theresa Moran of Middletown; Patricia Bowers and her significant other Jason Gould of Unionville and Virginia Howell and her husband Daniel of Middletown. His grandchildren Daniel; Dalton; Jared; Jaxon; Vienna; Sierra; Braden; Kayla; Peter; Kevin and Briana and one great-grandchild on the way. His sisters Carrie Mills of Port Jervis and Eva Mills of Ocala, Fl. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Edith Brown and his brothers Hank; Charles; Wilbur and Harry Lazier. Visitation hours will be held on Monday February 13, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 14, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery Goshen, N.Y.
