Josephine Shay Steinke of Middletown, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died on January 4, 2017 in Middletown Park. She was 92. The daughter of the late Vincenzo and Alfonza Vaccaro Siracusa, she was born on February 26, 1924 in Lodi, N.J. She was the widow of Eugene R. Shay and Robert A. Steinke. Survivors include her four children Sharon Motley of Baltimore, MD.; Richard Shay and his wife Sherri of Douglasville, GA.; Patricia Fulton and her husband William of Kenoza Lake, N.Y. and Jo-Ann Weber and her husband William of Westtown, N.Y. Her brother Salvatore Mastrelli and his wife Betty of Swartswood, N.J. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Powers. Visitation hours will be held on Monday January 9, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday January 9, 2017 at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph Church Cottage St. Middletown, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
